Dana White View on Daniel Cormier’s Retirement

When Stipe Miocic knocked out the UFC star Daniel Cormier, he wouldn’t have imagined that none other than the UFC president would come out to make a statement in Daniel’s favour. According to the latest UFC News Updates, Daniel wants to retire and had already given his word for that, but he still looks for a chance to Right the Wrong in UFC.

On the other hand, the UFC president Dana White wants him to continue, and says that Daniel Cormier still has a lot of fight left in him, although he is over 40 now. Dana White also said the he was shocked after looking at the new UFC Rankings, which have put Daniel Cormier at Number 7, after his loss to Stipe Miocic. He said, “I was looking at the rankings today when they came out. It’s just insane to me. This guy on Saturday night was the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world. He loses and drops to No. 7, and he loses to the Number 1 heavyweight contender in the world, and the guy who has the most consecutive title defenses in UFC history, and Cormier drops to Number 7? It’s crazy. He’s much higher than that, and he’s one of the best to ever do it. He’s still one of the best in the world.”

Dana Whites also said that the final decision about the retirement was to be left on Daniel, because it was his sole right to take a decision for himself. However, he also said that will support every UFC wrestler who has a talent to show in the ring. He also said he wanted to give a chance to fight for the third time, to both Miocic and Cormier provided that both the wrestlers are in favour of it.

As for Daniel Cormier, he said he was talking to his coaches and family about his next decision. He also said that he doesn’t like losing bouts at all, and he is not someone who would take the decisions based on emotions and regret later.
